What Chen says about the Master's in Language and Linguistics
Introducing Chen
Hi! My name is Chen and I'm the student ambassador for the Master's programme in Language and Linguistics. I am happy to answer any questions you might have about the programme, courses, student life, and life in Lund and Sweden via the Unibuddy Platform, where you can chat with me (see below). Please note that I cannot answer questions about the application process, scholarships, or residence permits.
Why did you choose Lund University?
"I chose Lund University primarily because it ranks among the top 100 universities worldwide. Moreover, the educators at Lund are exceptionally responsible, and the resources available to students are abundant, making it an ideal place for academic pursuit."
What are your first impressions of your programme? Does it meet your expectations?
"My initial impression of the programme is that it's systematically structured, offering students a significant degree of autonomy. It aligns well with my expectations and provides an environment that nurtures my research potential."
What have been the highlights of your first months in Lund?
"One of the striking highlights of my time in Lund so far is the amiable nature of its inhabitants. The pace of life is relaxed and resonates with the Swedish philosophy of 'lagom'."
What do you think of the teaching style in Sweden?
"I find the Swedish teaching style very inclusive. Educators here go to great lengths to ensure every student comprehends the subject matter. The environment is also conducive to vibrant discussions, and there's a genuine effort to involve all participants actively."
How international is your programme?
"The diversity in my programme is noteworthy. It comprises students from varied backgrounds, including Europe, the USA, and Asia, creating a rich multicultural tapestry."
What are you most looking forward to in your programme?
"I am eagerly anticipating diving deeper into research methods. I aspire to employ these methods to conduct rigorous scientific research in linguistics."
Stay tuned! A more comprehensive testimonial from this student will be published once they have completed their first semester at Lund and have more insights to share about their programme.
